About us
Community Action Services Australia (CASA) Inc. is a non-profit, charitable public benevolent institution and an endorsed Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) based in Wakeley, NSW, Australia. It serves the Greater Western Sydney region and operates entirely through the efforts of volunteers. We strive to assist everyone in the community, regardless of age, gender, nationality, religion, or sexuality.
"Our Heart and Soul are to serve the Community with a total commitment to becoming a positive force of change"
Our Vision is to be a lifting force in the community, offering support to individuals of all ages by promoting personal mastery, autonomy, and purpose, enabling them to be productive members of society.
We pursue our Mission, striving to work professionally and effectively, by providing efficient services that enhance people's wellbeing, enabling them to successfully integrate into their social circle as individuals, families, workers, and community members.
We believe in expressing our love for the community through an action-driven platform that empowers families and individuals to be self-reliant through food relief, financial mentoring and wellness programs in a sustainable fashion.
We encourage people in every possible way by helping individuals and families build stronger communities and providing programs to improve the conditions in which people live, relieving them of poverty, sickness, suffering, distress, and misfortune.
CASA runs several community sessions on age, housing, and income support in conjunction with Centrelink, NSW Department of Housing, Tax Department, and other community professionals; direct service (intake and referral), immigration/legal advice, and financial counselling through professionals who volunteer their time at CASA, assisting anyone who comes to our centre. As part of our pro-bono legal support/direct service, we have also helped Victims of Crime and have referred them accordingly.
CASA provides food hampers through community donations and food charity organisations to assist people on low incomes or those experiencing financial difficulties. CASA also offers various free training programs, including volunteer training and employment/leadership opportunities that may not be covered under 'education'.
CASA assists individuals and families by providing free support groups, raising awareness of community needs and issues with local, state, and commonwealth governments through community networks and direct engagement with people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
