Cochise Canine Rescue primarily takes in dogs and a few cats from euthanasia lists at regional shelters. CCR specializea in senior and "special needs" (chronic illness such a diabetes and Valley Fever; handicaps such as blindness, missing limbs etc.) animals and provides life care. We currently are home to 32 dogs, 7 cants and a number of farmed animals saved from slaughter. This year we have already exceeded our budgeted Medical Fund. We have spent in excess of $25,000 on hospitalizations and surgeries plus the costs for the daily medications and prescription diets needed by a large number of the animals in our care.
