The Child Care Action Council (CCAC) is dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive, learn, and grow in a safe, nurturing environment. Founded in 1987, we support families, child care providers, and communities across six counties in Western Washington through programs that strengthen early learning, promote family well-being, and build resilient communities. From free literacy programs like Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and Raising a Reader, to Kaleidoscope Play & Learn playgroups, crisis nursery services, home visiting, and child care provider coaching, CCAC reaches thousands of children and families each year.
We know that strong beginnings shape healthy futures. Research shows that children who have access to high-quality early learning experiences are more likely to succeed in school and life. Yet, too many families in our region face barriers of poverty, limited access to child care, and isolation. CCAC works to close these gaps, empowering parents and caregivers, supporting the early childhood workforce, and creating safe spaces where children can explore, play, and learn.
