About us
In 2005 no one in the US had seen Ingmar Villqist's HELVER'S NIGHT or Sabrina Mahfouz’ CHEF or Héctor Levy-Daniel’s BITTER FRUIT. Since then, St. Louisans have been the first to see those and dozens of other US premieres. Three original productions--THE DEATH OF ATAHUALPA, SWEET REVENGE, and THE GOOD SHIP ST. LOUIS--were developed thanks to the NEA.
We choose works from around the globe that have local resonance, and we are a leading producer of plays in translation. This international focus is rare in the country, and has won local acclaim as well as national recognition: in 2012 the American Theatre Wing (founder of the Tonys) selected us as one of the nation’s ten most promising emerging companies.
We’ve been doing this for 20 years: your support will help us keep St. Louis on the innovative edge of theater for the next two decades, by producing plays from around the globe that “move you, and move you to think.”
