Founded in 1988, CBE International (Christians for Biblical Equality) is a nonprofit organization of Christian women and men who believe that the Bible, properly translated and interpreted, teaches the fundamental equality of women and men of all racial and ethnic groups, all economic classes, and all ages, based on the teachings of Scriptures such as Galatians 3:28: “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (NIV 2011).

CBE exists to promote the biblical message that God calls women and men of all cultures, races, ethnicities and classes to share authority equally in service and leadership in the home, church, and world. CBE’s mission is to eliminate the power imbalance between men and women resulting from theological patriarchy.

CBE collaborates with global pastors, churches, institutions, and NGOs to eliminate sexism, racism, misogyny, gender-based violence, and human trafficking; to raise the status of women; and to promote human flourishing. We educate and advocate through online multimedia resources (in many languages), journals, blogs, podcasts, articles, videos, and audios, in addition to local chapters and yearly conferences.

CBE is the only Christian International nonprofit organization promoting women’s equality as a biblical ideal to Christians worldwide. With supporters from more than 100 denominations in over 214 countries, CBE’s global partnerships collaborate on events, publications, local chapters, and projects. To serve the global church, CBE’s resources are available in 22 languages. Beside our global partners, we equip Christians biblically to use their God-given talents in leadership and service regardless of gender, ethnicity, or class.
