Founded in 1973 as a residential treatment program, Burke Center for Youth is composed Pathfinder’s Ranch, our Child Placement Agency, and Transition Home. Pathfinder’s Ranch is Burke Center for Youth’s residential treatment facility for 10-17 year old boys. Every resident is a current ward of CPS who has been removed from his home due to trauma. We help these adolescents to begin the healing process through therapy (individual, group, equine), education at the on-site school, and the day-to-day chores involved in maintaining our 55 acres. The ranch also serves as the organization’s primary headquarters in Texas.

Burke Center’s Child Placement Agency was started in 1990. There are four offices in the State of Texas that offer foster and adoption services to any child from within the state, as well as a specialized level of care to the families that love them. Burke Center’s Transition Home is a residential program for young men that have aged out of foster care, but are not yet able to live independently. The program will offer job skills and placement, life skills education, GED and college enrollment. The extra support is readily available during this difficult transition to our biological children, and we will now offer the same to our Burke children.
