Brooklyn USA Sports Assn’s mission is to use the great sport of Basketball and its program to directly give participants the discipline and motivation necessary to stay in school, contribute to their community, and then to go on to higher education and leadership training. The program serves to help advance their education by help placing them in Colleges and Universities around the Nation. East New York, Brownsville, and Bed-Stuy comprise the most underserved census tracts in New York State. Within these tracts there are serious challenges with housing, health, food security and nutrition, education, and employment. These are also communities whose residents have the highest rates of interaction with the police. At Brooklyn USA Sports Assn Inc we have worked to combat these challenges for 30 years, and in light of our current situation, we seek to redouble our efforts.
