The Bonnyville & District SPCA  supports its mission on a 365 days per year/7 days per week basis to help lost, stray, abandoned, surrendered and unwanted dogs and cats off the streets and allies in the Town of Bonnyville and from the rural communities in the M.D. of Bonnyville.

Guided by best practices of the ASPCA and working within the animal control bylaws of the Town and the M.D. of Bonnyville, the key objective for animals coming in to the shelter is re-homing them in a new and caring home if the animal can not be returned to the rightful owner. Each dog and cat is vet-checked and receives medical attention appropriate to their condition and needs immediately upon being admitted to the shelter. Prior to be eligible for the adoption program, each animal is spayed, neutered and micro-chipped. Potential new pet owners are carefully screened to ensure a good match between the adoptive family and the new pet.

Our organization is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who work alongside other community volunteers, a small and passionate staff providing a high level of care and compassion for all animals that enter the Bonnyville & District SPCA Shelter until a suitable home is found.
