About us

Our world currently has over 40 million slaves. They harvest the cocoa for our chocolate and the cotton for our clothes, they catch our fish, they help make our electronic goods, clothing, shoes, jewellery and more. They work as domestic slaves, in nail parlours, in the redlight districts of our cities. Many of them are children, many of whom work in the worst forms of child labour. STOP THE TRAFFIK (being renamed BE SLAVERY FREE) is working to end slavery in our lifetime. We work with government, business and the general public, creating conversations between them to raise awareness and to ensure effective Modern Slavery Acts (currently Federal and NSW) in Australia. Funds are needed urgently to continue our campaigns and put an end to modern slavery. With the support of like minded organisations we played a significant role in the development and passing of the federal Modern Slavery Act which requires businesses with a turnover of $100 million dollars or more to report on what they are doing to find and address any slavery or human trafficking in their supply chains.
