Australian Seabird Rescue volunteers have been rescuing seabirds and sea turtles along the coastline of NSW for 25 years. We are a non-profit organisation that operates the Ballina Byron Sea Turtle Hospital which is one of the busiest turtle hospitals on the east coast of Australia. Throughout the year our volunteers look after over 60 sea turtles (Green, Hawksbill and Loggerhead) and 100s of seabirds and nurse them back to good health. Once rehabilitated, we return our healthy patients back to their home in the Cape Byron Marine Park. Not only does Australian Seabird Rescue just rehabilitate sick and injured sea turtles and seabirds, we aid in coordinating with a wide range of sea turtle conservation activities some of which include, nest identification and protection, marine debris beach clean ups and community education at our Wildlifelink sanctuary.
