Auroville International USA (AVI USA) is a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit organization. Our purpose is to engage in charitable and educational activities within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. These activities include, but not are not limited, to supporting projects aligned with the founding ideals of Auroville and promoting wherever, whenever possible peace and understanding between nations and individuals, a living embodiment of an actual human unity, an environment for unending education, and constant progress for humankind.Auroville International USA was first incorporated on August 8, 1973, as The Auroville Association. The Auroville Association received its nonprofit status in California on April 5, 1974. In 1983, in solidarity with the newly established Auroville International group in the Netherlands, the name was officially changed to Auroville International USA

AVI USA is an active and rapidly growing global organization. We support charitable projects that align with the charter of Auroville, a unique township in South India created with a remarkable vision by Mirra Alfasa of the Future for humanity and the Earth.
