Apifera Farm takes in elder and special needs animals-horses, ponies, goats, donkeys, fowl, llamas, pigs and chickens [and one turkey and some bunnies]. Often times the owners have died and the elder animals have been left needing a home. The Healing Barn on the farm's site also provides space for elder/special needs people to visit the animals in healing encounters. The farm also takes the oldest cats from the shelter and has a special elder cat suite for them-often the owners have had to go into a home.
