MISSION STATEMENT: World Hunger Team seeks to improve the health and well-being of people in poverty by enabling access to organic and sustainable nutrition and safe, clean drinking water.

World Hunger Team was founded in 2009 with the goal of ending world hunger in our lifetime. We are not a food pantry or food supplier; rather, we create SYSTEMS to grow food where little to no food is currently grown.

Domestically, this means converting unused indoor spaces such as empty classrooms, basements, old boiler rooms, etc., into indoor hydroponic gardens. Our homegrown simplified systems are FAR less expensive than commercial equipment, allowing us to grow up to 2,000 heads of collard greens in a typical high school gymnasium. Our "Indoor Community Garden" program gives any organization the ability to provide jobs and a therapeutic work environment for handicapped individuals including victims of PTSD, Autism, AD&D or any type of physical or mental limitation. It also provides food, income and a positive community environment for seniors and socially-challenged individuals. We also offer home growing systems and rainwater collection units.

Urban agriculture is the wave of the future, and WHT delivers a complete, closed-loop system of operations for non-profits and other community groups who want to grow their own organic food locally - in THEIR neighborhood - under THEIR control. We coordinate all of the details under a tested and proven systems, handling all details of construction, equipment, operational systems, information systems, funding, management and staffing. All organizations are linked for networking and problem-solving, as well as accurate reporting for Federal grants.

Internationally, this means creating large-volume water collection systems and row crop farming systems on-site in remote parts of sub-Saharan Africa. We have 4 units in the utility patent phase that we will be implementing in Uganda in late 2025. The components of these units ship flat in a box, and the connecting pipes are obtained locally. It allows our systems to be delivered into geographically-challenging sites, without incurring steep shipping costs.
