TRANSformation Recovery is the first sober living program in New York City designed exclusively for

transgender and non-binary individuals. Our year-long program offers a safe, affirming environment

rooted in structure, accountability, and community. We help individuals rebuild their lives through

sobriety, stability, and support.

■ WHY IT MATTERS

- Addiction rate is 4x higher among trans individuals - 1 in 5

report binge or heavy drinking - Unemployment rates are

200% higher - Most recovery programs exclude or harm trans

participants

This is lifesaving work — and it doesn’t exist anywhere else in NYC.

- Upcycled Life, Inc. is the nonprofit behind TRANSformation Recovery -

Liana Reid – Founder & Executive Director; 37 years sober, interventionist -

Melissa Sklarz – Program Director; Trans leader, 35 years sober

We are already at work — actively helping transgender and non-binary individuals in crisis by

connecting them with safe, affirming recovery placements. We are not waiting; we are serving the

community today.

recovery placements. This ensures people get the help they need today, while we build a permanent

home for tomorrow.

■ THE PROGRAM

A 5-phase, 12-month program that includes:

- Daily recovery structure - Peer-led

accountability - Yoga, meditation, life-skills

training - Job prep & aftercare planning
