Trybe’s Mission is to empower low-income communities in Oakland by providing opportunities for personal and communal growth through service and community organizing. With over two decades of grassroots efforts and programs led by a diverse team of leaders with deeply embedded community roots, Trybe works alongside residents to increase access to resources, foster skill development, and promote responsibility and leadership within the community. By creating "beloved" spaces focused on healing and grounded in mutual aid, respect, authenticity, and integrity, Trybe addresses the diverse needs of its community members. Trybe’s adaptive programming includes food security, resource navigation, early childhood programming, youth development, mentorship, internships and apprenticeships, workforce development, social enterprise development, and community safety initiatives. Through a commitment to Trybe’s “community family”, Trybe strives to build a safe, culturally vibrant, and economically stable environment for all community members.
