The Posse Foundation is a US college access and success, career and leadership development nonprofit with the goal of developing strong, inclusive leaders who more fully represent the diversity of the American people. Posse began in 1989 because of one student who said, “I never would have dropped out of college if I had my posse with me.” This concept grew into a national program that begins by identifying and training urban, high-school students with exceptional leadership talents and high academic potential. Posse partners with top-tier colleges and universities that admit these students with full-tuition scholarships in diverse teams of 10 – Posses – to provide critical peer support. The Posse program ensures that Scholars graduate at the rate of 90% with the knowledge, skills and resources they need to excel as leaders in meaningful careers.
