For the last 30 years we have supported cancer patients, their family members and carers and from September this year we started supporting people suffering with Motor Neurone Disease. Every month we support on average 200 patients and 100 family members and carers. We work across south and mid Powys and plan to open another hub in Newtown sometime in 2027 so we can reach more people in the north of the county. We do help people who are on the border of the county of Powys as well.

Our services offered at our Centre and our Hubs are all given free of charge and fall into three categories. Practical Support - starting with a one hour Holistic Needs Assessment for cancer patients or a Care Needs Assessment for MND patients. This is part of the Nurse support which is given on an ongoing basis for however long the patient requires our input. The Nurse team also take the time to support the family members and carers with any queries they may have. They also offer support and advice on self care, nutrition and sign post to other organisations who can help with financial issues. Physical Support - our Therapists offer a wide range of therapies to help with pain control and reliving stress, for example massage, scar work, acupuncture, Bowen technique or Bowen lymphatic drainage. Emotional Support - counselling for patients, family members and carers and also bereavement counselling.

In addition to the Practical, Physical and Emotional support, we also run classes in Tai Chi, Chair Yoga, Mindfullness, Relaxation, Gardening Club, Creativity Club, and twice a year we run a Living Well Programme which is focused on managing worry, fear and anxiety, understanding and managing fatigue and understanding and managing sleeplessness.
