The Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts (APCSM) is a 501(c)(3) education and outreach animal shelter serving Plymouth, Norfolk, and Bristol counties. Since 2009, we have placed over 7,000 animals into FURever homes. Our Mission is to operate an open admission animal care and adoption facility, with focus on prevention of cruelty to animals, education and outreach; while promoting inclusivity, acceptance, and equality. Thanks to our wonderful shelter community, we are able to resume daily operations during COVID, although in a much different way. While we have to limit the amount of volunteers within the shelter, we are able to have staff on-site to care for our animals; answer phone calls, emails, and assist those in need of resources. Since the pandemic, our goal of serving our neighbors runs strong through hosting our annual low-cost rabies and microchip clinics, and providing valuable pet guidance and connections for families facing financial hardships. Partnerships with local small businesses and nonprofits, such at The Pet Pantry, Inc. (https://www.helpfeedpets.org/) has allowed us to provide pet food and/or supplies each month for those in need of support.
