Since its inception in December 2014, Tails of Valor®, a 501(c) 3 organization, has been providing a recovery-oriented canine assisted service programs for Veterans, Law Enforcement and Emergency Personnel diagnosed with PTSI (post-traumatic stress injury) or TBI (traumatic brain injury). The program helps by bringing awareness to the behaviors, fears, and attitudes that our participants need to overcome in order to achieve a positive quality of life. This non medicinal program is a lifeline to mitigate the draining symptoms of service-connected trauma and is of no cost to the participants.  We provide community education and rehabilitation to battle the behavioral health illnesses facing our nation’s heroes. By creating a stronger supportive atmosphere of empathy, security, and acceptance during rehabilitation, our programs help to combat negative outcomes and suicide with the unconditional love of a dog.
