Friends of Austin Animal Center
Austin Animal Center takes in approximately 18,000 animals per year. If you’ve adopted, fostered, found, lost, or even said “Hello!” to an Austin pet, it’s likely gone through the doors of AAC.
Because AAC has a fixed budget, resources are dedicated to orthopedic surgeries, emergency medical treatment, and dog behavior and enrichment, but these programs rely heavily on donations. With shelter programs truncated - and adoption numbers dropping - due to the Covid-19 pandemic, additional financial support is desperately needed this year. That’s where Friends of AAC comes in - we provide funds and support to enhance and save lives in the shelter’s care, as well as support for adopted and fostered pets. Projects include emergency surgeries, motion-activated lights for nighttime volunteer safety, rolling cage banks for extra kennel space, welcome home kits for kitten season, positive dog training classes for fosters, and ongoing support projects to thank dedicated volunteers and staff.
