Surf Life Saving Northern Region is the lead provider of lifesaving services, coastal aquatic rescue, surf sport and beach education services in our region which covers the area from Raglan to the Far North, making up 40% of national lifesaving outputs. Some of our regions beaches present some of the greatest risks to the people of and visitors to our region. We have 2000 volunteer lifeguards who patrol our beaches in order to keep those enjoying our beaches safe. Our zero drowning toll of those swimming between the red and yellow flags continued last season however the number of rescues we performed more than doubled from the previous summer.
We are constantly reaching out to community funders for financial support to cover both our day to day overheads along with emergency, first aid and rescue related equipment. These all come at a considerable cost. We are a charity not fully government funded so any support you are able to provide by way of a donation would be going towards saving lives on our regions beaches.
