Southern Pines Animal Shelter’s mission is to nurture the bond between people and pets through community, compassion, and collaboration, and a vision to forge a path toward sustainable, responsible, and community-driven lifesaving. Founded in 1952, the organization operates a no-kill Shelter in Hattiesburg, MS that cares for thousands of lost and unwanted dogs and cats each year and works to find them loving outcomes through reunification, adoption, and their thriving EMBARK Transport Program. The organization also operates the Second Chance Thrift Shop with locations in Hattiesburg and Oak Grove where all proceeds help pets in need, and a Healthy Pet Clinic whose mission is to make vital veterinary services affordable and accessible to community pets.
