Solano County S.P.C.A.
About us
The SPCA of Solano County is a 501c3 adoption guarantee animal shelter in Vacaville, California. The SPCA was founded in 1974 by a group of animal loving people that wanted to make a difference. For the last 50 years the SPCA of Solano County governed by a Board of Directors has operated entirely on adoption fees, fundraising, and community generosity. The SPCA of Solano County has never received funding from any government source.
The SPCA takes in approximately 600 – 700 dogs and cats. Many of the animals we take in are from shelters with high euthanasia rates and a significant number of medical cases that ordinarily wouldn’t have a chance of adoption. The SPCA holds a once-a-month vaccine clinic for 130 -160 dogs and cats and is planning to once again hold our very popular “NO Father’s Day event where we spay/neuter approximately 100 cats for little to no cost to the pet guardian.
In 2013 the SPCA of Solano Country opened a low-cost high volume spay and neuter clinic and performed 60,000 surgeries before closing in 2019. We would love to be able to provide these services again, but it takes help from our community to make it happen.
