SOAR Outreach provides support to low-income and homeless youth in Wake County, by providing improved opportunities to focus on and excel in their education. SOAR Outreach currently focuses the majority of their work on the Healthy Hygiene Habits (HHH) Program, which focuses on basic hygiene techniques that have a major impact on a child’s participation and success in school. Through the HHH Program, staff works to ensure all children in participating schools have equal access to basic personal care and hygiene items. This program ensures all children feel empowered and confident, providing equal opportunities for them regardless of family income. SOAR can help decrease bullying in participating schools and increase classroom successes in the most vulnerable populations of children through direct programming.
