Boise’s community orchestra making classical music joyful, inclusive, and free for everyone.

Now in its 25th year, Serenata Orchestra is a volunteer symphony of over 100 adult musicians dedicated to sharing the power of live music with our community. Under the direction of Artistic Director Jennifer Drake, Serenata performs four themed concerts each season—always free and open to the public—bringing audiences of all ages together to experience the joy of music.

Our musicians volunteer their time and talent because we believe that classical music should be accessible to all, not just those who can afford a ticket. From whimsical concerts like “Science Fiction Night” to deeply moving performances like “With Strings Attached,” Serenata brings creativity, heart, and humor to the stage.

In 2025, Serenata Orchestra received the Boise Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Arts & History, recognizing our 25-year commitment to building community through music.
