Rosie's House: A Music Academy for Children
About us
Since our founding in 1996, Rosie’s House has grown into one of the largest providers of free music education in the nation, and the only program of its kind in Arizona. Our mission is to eliminate barriers to high-quality music education and the life-changing opportunities that education provides. Through music, we support youth as they develop their full creative and personal potential. 100% of Rosie’s House students are at or below federal HUD low-income thresholds, and the average household income is less than $40,000 a year.
Guided by a 3-year strategic plan, Rosie’s House is in a deliberate growth phase, significantly increasing our impact while maintaining our commitment to excellence. For most of our history, we had a single program: our Afterschool Music Program. During the 2024-25 Afterschool Music program year, we will provide 668 youth with weekly music lessons, along with free instruments and supplies; 7,500 healthy meals through a partnership with St. Mary’s Food Bank; assistance with applications for college, FAFSA, and scholarships; mental health support through a partnership with Terros Health; and more, all at no cost to families. One notable outcome is that 100% of Rosie’s House graduates over the last five years went on to pursue their college or career goals.
