We are a Long Island based dog rescue. Our mission is to rescue from the NYC Shelter system, the seniors, the abandoned ones who have lived a lifetime with the only family they know and are tossed or abandoned into the "system" where their hope for survival is so slim.  We rescue whether they have medical problems, behavior issues,  and are the overlooked ones. A very small foster based rescue,  it is close to impossible to compete for funds with the larger rescues or shelters.  We will never ignore the many seniors in need, and will always do our best to rescue them and put them in a loving foster home.  Our Rescue will vet them to the fullest!  Spay/neuter, bloodwork, echocardiograms if needed, and in many cases it is.  If more, we will do CT scans, surgeries when required, and many of the older females come with mammary masses as they are still intact.  Bred and thrown away, they will have a second chance with our Rescue.  Even if our funds are low, we will never say no to giving them that second chance.  Do we struggle for funds?  Yes of course we do, but we can't put saving a life on hold,  their lives matter to us, each and every one of them.  When no one else will rescue them, the Shelter contacts us, knowing that even if we are struggling for fosters, funds, we will do the best we can to save another life.  Our fosters are our angels, many taking in more than they are truly able to but will never let them die.  We are committed to saving one by one, and will continue this for as long as it is needed.  Their lives matter to us!
