Red Dust Role Models is a registered health promotion charity that works to improve the health outcomes of youth living in remote Australian Indigenous communities. Our aim is to reduce chronic disease with a focus on nutrition, hygiene, substance misuse and physical activity. We work with communities to support young Indigenous people to make life choices from an informed position. The health disparity between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians remains stubbornly large and this disparity is especially acute in remote parts of Australia. Children are not immune from this and yet are often the least equipped in society to stand up to the challenges. Red Dust believes that good health is the key to a bright future and that better health outcomes can be achieved through positive two-way exchange with communities. To improve youth health outcomes we deliver innovative health promotion programs in partnership with remote communities that encourage Indigenous youth to learn more about health and inspire them to live a healthy lifestyle.
