Rainbow Baby Bank is a small registered charity based in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire.  Founded in 2019, our ethos is 'Every child deserves the best start in life'.

We provide disadvantaged families, living within the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, with new and pre-loved essential equipment eg cots, prams & highchairs, clothing upto 2 years, nappies, toiletries, infant formula and baby food.  We work via a referral system from professionals already supporting the families we help - health visitors, midwives, family support & social workers, local schools and other charities. We support families struggling financially, asylum seekers, families experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse and human trafficking/sexual exploitation. We are also proud supporters of 5 local domestic abuse refuges and often respond quickly to crisis situations, where families have fled with literally just the clothes on their back.

We rely on donations of pre-loved items from our amazing supporters, however some items do have to be brand new for health and safety reasons.  To minimise the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, we always provide brand new mattresses for every moses basket, cot or cot-bed we provide to the families we support.  By helping us, you are ensuring that every referred child has a safe space to sleep.
