About us
The MAN VAN® is the Prostate Cancer Centre's (PCC) mobile out reach program, and the PCC is expanding the program by reaching out to at risk, vulnerable and indigenous communities integrating a clinical pathway and engagement strategy. Our experience shows a higher prevalence of advanced disease among Indigenous and men of color. Follow up services will be expanded to guide high-risk men every step of the way to make sure they follow through with care and do not have to navigate the health-care system alone. Clinics not only do the PSA tests for men between 40-70, but also provide a mental wellness check for all men over the age of 18. This grant will support operational and wrap-around clinic care costs for 20 clinics per year. Clinics will be held at sites around Edmonton and throughout Northern Alberta that have been identified as high risk. The grant is not just for the execution of the clinics but also for creating the essential partnerships that allow for a successful clinic to happen. There may be additional admin/follow up with these populations.
