We’re not sure what you have heard about us, so allow us to introduce ourselves.

Prison Book Project was established in 1994 and has been sending books into prisons with only one vision in mind: to Touch Lives Behind Bars. Each year our goals for each year have grown and adapted. In our first 2 years, our goal was to put 1,000 books into the local county jail. With the Lord’s provision, we were able to put in approximately 38,000 books. From that point on, we set goals for expanding the reach of the ministry and have exceeded each one of those as well. We are now in over 3,000 facilities in 39 countries with over 800 facilities on the waiting list. In the last 4 years, we have distributed over 1.1 MILLION books!

Our biggest desire is to introduce prisoners to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, help them build a firm foundation of faith, and equip them to minister to others, whether they remain in prison or are released.

Our mission is to do our part in fulfilling the words of Jesus found in Matthew 25:36,40

“…I was in prison and you came to Me… Truly, I say to you, as you did it to the least of these My brethren, you did it to me.”
