About us
PAWS (Pet Adoption and Welfare Society of Carteret) organized in 2002. During the first 10 years our Volunteers offerred Foster homes, participated in Adoption Events, had free FeLV & Heartworm clinics in our community, and a free pet food pantry.
Our main mission has always been to build an "alternative" (no-kill) adoption center. We began fundraising to build this facility and
began construction in 2015. Before construction was completed in 2018 we were devastated by hurricane Florence and have been recovering ever since.
We are now fundraising to purchase equipment for our facility so that we can move forward with opening.
