The purpose of People United for Rescue and Rehoming (PURR) is to: To find, warm, caring adoptive homes and families for otherwise unwanted kittens and adult cats, including feral cats. To encourage and promote the responsible neutering of cats, and to provide assistance to low-income people who are unable to pay to do so. To educate the public about responsible pet ownership. To work with governmental agencies and other nonprofit organizations involved with handling unwanted kittens and adult cats, including feral cats. To provide a safe, healthful sanctuary for kittens and adult in transition to more permanent homes; and To seek alternatives to euthanasia for unwanted kittens and adult cats for which homes are not available.
