NICE is a not-for-profit charitable organization created in 2005. We are an international network of researchers, practitioners, students, and seniors dedicated to improving the care of older adults, both in Canada and abroad. NICE has three main goals: (1) Help close the gap between evidence-based research and practice; (2) Improve the training of existing practitioners, geriatric and gerontological educational curricula, and interest new students in specializing in geriatric and gerontological care; and (3) Effect positive policy changes for the care of older adults. Our members represent a broad spectrum of disciplines and professions, including geriatric medicine, gerontological nursing and social work, rehabilitation science, social sciences, policy and law. We develop strong and diverse partnerships to achieve our goals: capacity building, knowledge transfer, gerontology education, and student engagement.
