Myles Ahead of Cancer was founded by Rob and Emilee McGowan in honor of their son Myles, who courageously battled a rare form of brain cancer called Ependymoma before passing away in 2008 at just five years old. Our mission is to provide unwavering support to families with children who are battling or have tragically succumbed to cancer, offering a safe space for caregivers who need help moving forward after a devastating diagnosis. We are dedicated to building empathetic and caring relationships that bring solace and community during life's most challenging journey. Through our compassionate initiatives, we support organizations like Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times and Ronald McDonald House locations in Long Beach and Los Angeles, while also providing scholarships through our Myles McGowan Coaches Classic basketball tournament. We strive to make a profound positive impact by guiding families forward as they navigate the challenging Myles Ahead. Our vision is to build healthy families and move toward a brighter future, one family at a time.
