Museum of Special Art
About us
The Museum of Special Art (MOSA) serves individuals with disabilities located in WA State, U.S., and internationally. This community ranges from individuals with disabilities who have developmental or physical disabilities, visual impairments, traumatic brain injuries, behavioral or mental health disabilities, or a comorbid of various disabilities. This includes individuals with cognitive deficits, neurological deficits, and communication deficits. It is an underserved population that has very limited access to the arts in our community. Many times, it is due to the great challenges they face because of their disability and the inadequate supports provided by other art programs. At MOSA, we are that bridge for these artists so their work can be recognized by our community. In many ways, we are their voice and provide advocacy in the visual arts for these individuals. We innovatively connect with these artists and help them every step of the way with Special Education programming that provides them adequate supports and accommodations so they too can achieve success, recognition, and have inclusion opportunities in the visual arts.
MOSA makes art accessible to individuals with disabilities! Your greatly needed contribution can assist us with operations, preservation, visual arts programming, and exhibition opportunities for these individuals.
