Each year, more than 48,000 babies are born premature or sick requiring the specialised care of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN). Sadly, up to 1,000 babies will lose their fight for life. The trauma and experience of having a baby born early or critically ill can be life-changing and it affects the entire family unit. Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia's leading organisation providing vital, emotional support to these families. They also provide important services and resources to the hospitals that care for them. The globally recognised NurtureProgram consists of a 24-Hour Helpline, Face-to-Face in-hospital support and out-of-hospital play and support groups, facilitated by Miracle Babies.
