Milly’s Smiles are a children’s cancer charity based in Great Harwood, Blackburn.

The charity was established in 2016 in memory of Milly Walmsley. Milly was diagnosed and treated for Acute Myeloid Leukaemia at The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital from 2014-2015.

Our mission is to support families whose child has received a new diagnosis of a cancer related illness. We support families from the North West of England and also from areas of London, and we do this by working closely with The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Leeds Children’s Hospital and St Barts Children’s Hospital.

Milly’s Smiles provides a bag known as a Milly Bag to all newly diagnosed families at these hospitals. Our bag contains essential items that help with an unplanned hospital stay. Since 2016 we have provided hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of Milly Bags to families and supported over 1000 families during one of the worst times of their lives.
