Ectopic pregnancy is a common and potentially life-threatening complication of early pregnancy, and it remains the leading cause of maternal death in the first trimester. Around 1 in 80 pregnancies in the UK are affected. It happens when an embryo implants outside the womb, most commonly in a fallopian tube. An ectopic pregnancy cannot continue and cannot be saved.

Early diagnosis is vital. Treatment varies depending on how the condition presents and how quickly it is identified, ranging from medication to surgery. Alongside clinical care, many people are left navigating shock, loss, and uncertainty. That’s where we come in.
