The Texas animal shelter euthanasia crisis is not solely a shelter problem. Assisting pets living with low income individuals by providing spay/neuter for their animals, lowers the number of unplanned animals entering the shelter to begin with.

In Los Angeles, where the shelter interventions and assistance programs were created we also started our rescue (Ghetto Rescue FFoundation). We are police officers, firefighters, and community members working closely with the creator of the whole idea. We decided to help in Texas where our founder is from. We are helping loving responsible people keep their pets. Loving Texas Pet Assistance is a program under Ghetto Rescue FFoundation.

Need dog food? Need service or support for your dog? Need medical help for your pet? Keep your pet out of the shelter.

*Kermit the Dog. Kermit was dumped in a ditch by someone in Eagle Pass, Texas. Then a family found him and took him home to feed him. He did not get better. We received a call (in California) asking for help. We contacted the local Vet, but she was unable to. We sent $100 to a man to drive Kermit to Uvalde to get him help. The Vet staff there advised us he had Mountain Fever and heartworms. We had him humanely put down and we had his ashes sent to us. We think Kermit mattered. We are sad no one helped Kermit the Dog.

He motivated me to help people with their dogs in Texas.
