Learning Independence for Tomorrow (LiFT) is a nonprofit organization in Clearwater, Florida, dedicated to inspiring and empowering people with neurodiversity to learn, thrive, and succeed. Since opening its doors in 2013, LiFT has grown into a comprehensive educational ecosystem that serves neurodivergent individuals from kindergarten through adulthood—providing exceptional academics, life skills training, career development pathways, and meaningful social connections.

At the heart of LiFT’s model is the belief that every person learns differently. With personalized education plans, small class sizes, and a strengths-based approach, LiFT ensures every student receives the individualized support needed to achieve independence and personal success. Today, LiFT serves more than 180 students and young adults, maintains a 95% graduation rate, and offers a continuum of programs including:

• LiFT Academy (K–12) – Inclusive, structured education for neurodiverse students

• LiFT University Transition Program – Workforce readiness and independent living training

• LiFT Adult Training Program & Micro-Business Labs – Hands-on employment experience through student-run enterprises like catering, retail, cleaning services, and manufacturing

• Sandi Lynn Geller Family Resource Center – Critical health, wellness, behavioral, and community navigation support for families

LiFT has earned regional recognition for its innovative programs, deep community partnerships, and commitment to building opportunities where none previously existed. With a newly renovated 40,000 sq. ft. campus and a bold multi-year vision for expansion—including an inclusive playground, a teaching café and retail boutique, and a Center of Excellence for neurodiverse services—LiFT continues to push boundaries to create a world where independence is not only possible but achievable for every learner.
