About us

Korea Town Senior and Community Center (KSCC) was established and registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in April 2013. Korea Town Senior and Community Center has been actively involved in providing a variety of programs and services that enrich the lives of seniors of all demographics.

KSCC presents a stimulating array of classes with outstanding instructors, free of charge. Our programs are designed to provide opportunities and resources to senior adults, expanding their vocational abilities, while providing them with positive communal and cultural activities. The following are some educational courses offered to senior adults: ESL, smartphone usage and operation, beginning computer, art, music, photography, basic flower , soap making, Korean modern History, and basic language instruction in Spanish and Japanese.

Thanks to the assistance of and partnership with various respectable organizations and individuals, KSCC is able to provide helpful social, legal, and health services on a weekly basis. Some of the medical services provided by licensed physicians and registered nurses include: ● Dialysis ● Flu shot and the coronavirus vaccination ● Multiple medication management ● Prevention and management of Alzheimer's, dementia, hepatitis, hypertension, heart disease and arthritis ● Dental and denture care ● Psychological counseling ● Group sharing classes for individuals with disabilities In addition to these services, the center provides oriental medicine and acupuncture treatment and advice. At KSCC we service 500 - 600 unduplicated clients per month, who each attend 6-7 classes per quarter. Korea Town Senior and Community Center has sustained our program services over our three year history, generating thousands of dollars from in-kind donations for its programs including: ● 38 teachers volunteer once per week

● One social worker volunteer

● L.A. City rents the KSCC building at $1 per year

● 7-9 lawyers volunteer once per month for 3 hours
