Home-Start Portsmouth aims to support parents to be the best they can be for the benefit of their children; using a compassionate, relational and non-judgmental approach we build resilience and ensure no parent feels alone in the critical task of raising children. Our services are based around our unique home-visiting model, supported by volunteers recruited from the community, working to empower families to make sustainable changes for the benefit of the child with a focus on the early years.

Our home-visiting service provides 1:1 support for families for up to 6 months. We run 15 weekly stay & play groups across Portsmouth; both universal and specialist groups including for, SEND, LGBTQIA+, perinatal mental health, and Polish speakers. Our team of Family Hub Champions, based in family hubs around the city, provide 1:1 support and signposting. We also offer targeted school readiness, dads, Royal Navy & Royal Marine services, parenting courses and support with DLA applications.
