Heartland Equine Rescue Inc., takes in horses from owner surrenders, or from assisting law enforcement with neglect cases. We rehabilitate, re-train, and rehome them to qualified applicants with an adoption contract.

Our rescue also helps owners with assistance financially if we are able to, which may allow them to keep their beloved equine. 

Our rescue also offers an owner assisted placement program for those horses that we cannot immediately make room for and take into our care, we offer posting that equine for them at no cost to them, or adopter and prescreen potential homes and place horses on our adoption contract.  This enables for horses to still be placed safely, even if we cannot physically take them into our care.
