Harmony Farms is a volunteer based charity providing equine assisted activities & therapy to disabled individuals of all ages to enhance their quality of life, to build confidence, independence and self-esteem.

26% of the population has a disability. One in six children ages 6 - 17 live with a mental health disorder.  1 in 44 kids identify as Autistic.  Harmony Farms was established in 1992 to address the growing need for alternative therapies.  In our program, the horse becomes the motivator to improve movement, muscle tone, verbalization and attention span.  We handle physical, mental & behavioral disabilities.

Riding a horse rhythmically moves the rider's body in a manner similar to the human gait, so riders with physical needs often show improvement in flexibility, balance, muscle strength, circulation & breathing.  We incorporate equitation with games, exercises and fun.  At Harmony Farms, we emphasize ability, not disability.

We currently handle 50 riders a week with 38 on our waiting list.  There is a growing need for our service.  We need help to expand so we can help more disabled individuals.
