Greenhouse Scholars is a diverse community of leaders working together to ensure people of all backgrounds can live a life of their choosing. Through the Greenhouse Community Change Model, Greenhouse:1. Recruits and select inspiring young role models from under-resourced and underrepresented communities.2. Surrounds these young role models with leadership, personal, and professional success resources during their time as Greenhouse Scholars and later as Alumni.3. Connects Greenhouse Scholars and Alumni with established business and philanthropic leaders, diverse in age, socioeconomics, geography, perspectives, and backgrounds.4. Leverages the Greenhouse community’s collective ideas and resources to create sustainable impact in underserved communities.Our results are outstanding. 97% of Greenhouse Scholars graduate from college, compared to 15% of their peers from first-generation, low-income backgrounds. Starting salaries of Greenhouse Scholars are 2x that of both their parents and are 22% higher than their peers - changing the trajectory of entire families. The average college debt of Greenhouse Scholars is $2,026, compared to $37,338 nationally. To date, in collaboration with our Scholars and Alumni, Greenhouse has implemented 368 nonprofits, for-profit businesses, and community change initiatives. Together, we are the community transforming communities, leveling the playing field for people of all backgrounds.
