Epona Safe Haven is an Equine Rescue located at Journey’s End Farm in Scituate, RI. We are a 501C3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing equines from various at-risk situations including neglect, abandonment and slaughter. We also help those who can no longer afford the care of their horse and will take owner surrenders. Epona Safe Haven not only rehabilitates our horses physically but mentally as well. Our treatment modalities include traditional veterinarian care, Reiki, equine massage and chiropractic treatment. We rehabilitate each horse individually, going at their pace, allowing them to rest and recuperate. Once ready to move into physical rehabilitation, the versatility of our rehabilitation includes groundwork, natural horsemanship, ring work, obstacles, and outdoor work. We firmly believe that every horse has a purpose, whether they are fit to be ridden under saddle or meant to be a loving member of a family to be adored by children! We cannot accomplish our mission without the help of dedicated hard-working volunteers. We encourage all who want to help to reach out, whether you have equine experience or not. We empower our volunteers by educating and training them in all aspects of care and rehabilitation, as well as equine behavior/psychology and correct safe handling.
