Since 1988, the Cowichan Valley Basket Society (CVBS), also known as the Duncan Food Bank, has been helping individuals and families facing food insecurity throughout the Cowichan Valley.

Our mission is to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry. Through our food hamper program, we provide nutritious groceries, including fresh produce, dairy, meat and other essentials, to individuals and families in need.

We also operate a daily meal program, providing hot, nutritious meals and a welcoming place where people can find kindness, dignity and a sense of belonging.

Our food recovery program works with local grocery stores, farmers and businesses to rescue good, nutritious food that might otherwise go to waste and redirect it to people who need it.

With the support of our dedicated volunteers, generous donors and community partners, we continue to respond to the growing need for food assistance while treating everyone who walks through our doors with compassion and respect.
