Community on the Rise empowers people experiencing homelessness through Housing, Education, Healing, & Employment. We do this by offering 2 years of free, safe housing; stable employment in our plastic recycling justice enterprise; a trauma-informed healing curriculum; breaking barriers that hold people back; and recovering vital identity documents so people can move forward. Since 2020, we have provided 1450 nights of safe sleep, created 12 jobs for survivors of homelessness, including in leadership positions; diverted thousands of pounds of plastic waste from our ecosystems by recycling it into beautiful jewelry and home decor; started a rental to home ownership opportunity; and recovered over 4,000 identity documents.
