The Community Cat Coalition Inc. supports volunteers who care for community (stray/abandoned/street/semi-owned) cats in Auckland. We do this by fund-raising, soliciting donations of food and other supplies related to cat care, facilitating networking and cooperation, and advocating for humane community cat management by other parties. The funds which we raise are almost exclusively spent on desexing, because it is only by limiting the number of kittens born each year that we can resolve the problems associated with too many stray cats. Primarily these problems are ones of animal welfare and this is the main focus of the CCC, but there are also amenity and biodiversity gains potentially associated with reducing the number of stray cats across the Auckland region. Donations would be appreciated because although 'too many stray cats' is a community and civic issue, it is not funded by local or central government except when very occasionally we are successful in a grant application. Our members work extremely hard for animals who need help, largely due to irresponsible cat ownership, and they spend a lot of their own money and time sorting out the issues caused by others.
